As the lines on her face got easier to see,
she put down her mirror and looked up at me and said,  “seems the girl you knew is gone”
Didn’t know what to say, so I stood there a while                                                                                 
trying to be cleaver, I said through a smile, “baby… times like these, I’m glad when you’re wrong”

didn’t know if she heard me, she just sat there and starred silently                                                         
then she started to giggle like when she was eighteen,
pushed back that mirror and walked up to me and said

All the things that we’ve faced, you’ve always been there for me
