I Love You Naked

“I Love You Naked”
Music and Lyrics by: Michael Riser and Marc-Alan Barnette

Two weeks since getting paid, foreman says layoffs are on the way
And this time it was my turn, as I heard him call my name
But her gift was still on lay away, and I thought I’d somehow save the day
and hoped I might get lucky, at the local poker game

I really lost my shirt that night
When I got the nerve to tell her, she just looked me in the eyes and said…

Let ‘em take it, I love you naked
if they take the clothes right off our backs we’ll make it
‘Cause whether  we’re living rich or poor
there’s one thing that I know for sure
We made a vow,  we’re not gonna break it, so let ‘em take it, I love you naked

That season hit us pretty hard,  when she tried to use her credit card
and they cut it up before her, right there in the store
She was out to buy a negligee and the clerk reached out and took it away
and said “sorry hon, your credits done,  you can’t shop here anymore
She was trying to do something nice for me
I said her baby don’t you know by now, you’re the only thing I need

So Let ‘em take it, I love you naked
Don’t need no lingerie for the love we’re makin’
‘Cause whether we’re living rich or poor
there’s one thing that I know for sure
We made a vow, we’re not gonna break it, so let ‘em take it, I love you naked

Naked as the day we’re born, with just our love and nothing more
side by side we’ll make it through this storm
‘Cause I’ve got you and you’ve got me, a foundation strong as it can be
Nothing’ll ever change that,  nothing’ll ever shake it

So Let ‘em take it, I love you naked
if they take the clothes right off our backs we’ll make it
‘Cause whether we’re living rich or poor
there’s one thing that I know for sure
we made a vow, we’re not gonna break it, so let ‘em take it, I love you naked

so let ‘em take it, I love you naked, let ‘em take it, I love you naked, baby

A fun sing-along country song from Nashville-inspired rocker, Michael Riser, which reminds us that no matter how tough times may be, the one thing no one can take from you is the love you've earned. 'Cause, it's about who you are... not what you have.
